MDT REFERRAL

How to refer to the North East London and Essex HCC 

The HCC Network Manager / Data Manager will forward out invitations for the scheduled HCC MDT in advance of the meeting, if you are a clinician within the North East London and Essex HCC / South East Network HCC and not on the distribution list please contact bartshealth.hcc@nhs.net. 

A reminder email for cases will be sent out to clinicians a week in advance of the HCC MDT occurring.

Multidisciplinary (MDT) meetings 

The Meeting is chaired by our NEL HCC Clinical Leads and should be presented by the referring clinician.  

Meeting Frequency

MDT meetings occur every month via Microsoft Teams  3pm-4:30pm.  

The link will be sent out to clinicians before the meeting. 

• Sickle Cell Adults MDT- every 1st Monday of the Month
• Sickle Cell Paediatrics MDT- every 4th Monday of the Month
• Thalassemia  Adults and Paediatrics  MDT - every 2nd Monday of the Month
• Neuro-radiology meeting where Head, Neck and Spinal scans of patients are reviewed with a neuro-radiologist and a representative from the treating team - every 4th Monday of the Month

Referrals for the MDT should be sent, by a clinician, to Bartshealth.HCC@nhs.net  by 5pm on the Friday before the MDT. 

This will enable the Consultants to review the referral/s prior to the MDT.

Business Meeting

Organised by the HCC, these are held twice a year, the panel is made up of the clinical team from across the East London and Essex Region.

The chair is the Network Director Professor Paul Telfer, with deputies HCC Adult Lead Dr Filipa Barroso / HCC Paediatric Lead Dr Banu Kaya.
